2. Frankenstein Presented by Actors’ Theatre of Columbus

Frankenstein, adapted for the stage by Richard Brinsley Peake from the original novel by Mary Shelley, runs Thursdays through Sundays at 8 p.m. in Schiller Park until July 15. Performed in the style of classic melodrama, including song, lovers, and spectacle, Peake’s stage adaptation is considered the original stage version of Frankenstein. Actors’ Theatre productions take place outdoors in beautiful Schiller Park. Having worked personally with director Mandy Fox in the past, I’m sure that this will be a top-quality production. The show is free to attend, but you can reserve premium seats online and donations are always appreciated to help keep these shows free for everyone. Otherwise, bring a blanket or lawn chair and enjoy!
